Insurance companies require a certain level of documentation to approve claims, including your diagnosis code(s) and your treatment plan(s). ACW prefers to avoid disclosing your sensitive information to a third party. In addition, ACW provides a curated experience for you by not being constrained by the volume of clients typically required by insurance-based practices. This means greater flexibility and shorter wait times for appointments.
We use an integrative method to provide evidence-based strategies, known as multimodal therapy (MMT) or eclectic therapy. This often includes modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and interpersonal therapy (IPT). Our methods are culturally sensitive, strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-focused.
The duration of a typical initial diagnostic assessment is approximately 75 minutes, and ongoing therapy sessions are a 50-minute hour. Clients are often seen every two weeks to allow time for the completion of homework assignments between sessions. However, the frequency and duration of therapy are influenced by factors such as your schedule, your unique needs, and your progress toward your stated treatment goal(s).

No. In the state of Georgia, only certain providers, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, and primary care physicians, have the authority to prescribe medication. If you and your therapist decide that medication may enhance your current services, a referral will be provided.
